Samskip is pleased to announce it has recently added 25 new Krone 13.6m Mega trailers to its fleet.
In addition, the company will further expand its fleet by introducing 25 brand new standard 13.6m Huckepack trailers and 20 45ft-only container chassis in March, followed by another batch of 25 trailers and 20 chassis later this year. The latter will be a 500 kgs lighter chassis, currently being developed in cooperation with D-Tec. We expect to be including the first prototype to our fleet as of May 2015.
Also, throughout the year, more and more rail wagons will be put into use at the Duisburg rail terminal to supporting the increased rail shuttle services, e.g., our new direct service into Denmark, from this terminal.
> Whether (Mega) 13.6m Huckepack trailers, chassis, rail wagons or (customised) trucks, Samskip will continue investing in its fleet.
On top of all the above, throughout 2015 Samskip will introduce about 150 new Mercedes-Benz trucks of which 18 Mega trucks, a new type of equipment to Samskip, and a few customised trucks to cope with extreme Icelandic temperatures (i.e., equipped with automatic snow chains and a heavier engine).
