Troon-based CCL Logistics & Technology (CCL) has gained global accreditation for its innovative feature – Greener Routes, becoming the first UK logistics services group recognised by the Smart Freight Centre (SFC).

CCL’s transport management system myCCL is now accredited by the international non-profit organisation SFC, focusing on reducing the emissions impact of global freight transportation. The system calculates Scope 3 emissions related to logistics and transportation, encompassing all indirect emissions in a company’s value chain. These emissions typically constitute over 70% of a business’s carbon footprint.

Headquartered in Troon, CCL’s technology platform, developed at its Innovation Centre in Bellshill, has garnered global attention for aiding customers in measuring, managing, and minimising Scope 3 carbon emissions.

Callum Bastock, CEO and Founder of CCL, highlighted the historic challenge of calculating emissions data and emphasised the system’s impact:

“Now that myCCL automatically calculates the Scope 3 emissions for our customers, it’s much easier for them to understand the environmental impact each shipment has on their overall footprint.”
