Massey Wilcox Transport is celebrating after being awarded two significant industry accreditations.
It has achieved one of the highest levels of British Retail Consortium Standard (BRC) accreditation for its newest warehouse, and Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Bronze certification for its vehicles.
Massey Wilcox, which has depots in Bristol, Radstock and Emborough, specialises in general transport, storage, warehousing, and nationwide pallet distribution through its shareholder membership of the Wolverhampton-based Pallet-Track network.
BRC accreditation guarantees the highest industry standards for product handling and food safety.
Massey Wilcox, which has a total capacity of 250,000sq ft warehousing across all sites, has been awarded a coveted ‘A’ rating following an audit of its newest warehouse.
Incorporating racked and bulk storage, the warehouse has also been used to provide the safe storage of glass and other fragile items for drinks and cosmetics customers, along with paper reels which require specialist equipment and training to ensure the safe storage and handling.
Key to the BRC accreditation has been putting systems in place for cleanliness, hygiene, and processes to meet end-to-end compliance requirements for food and related products. The accolade will help the business continue to deliver diverse solutions for new and existing customers.
Massey Wilcox has also achieved the FORS Bronze award, which officially recognises fleet operations that prioritise safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
Identifying a gap in the local market for a haulier with FORS accreditation, Massey Wilcox recently took the first steps in being recognised by this important industry body. Achieving the Bronze award will now enable the business to offer a total delivery solution.
With eyes on Silver accreditation in early 2025, Massey Wilcox has already invested £1million in 2024 on new tractor units and trailers and increased the number of tractors that are DVS compliant for deliveries into London and other major towns/cities.
Chris Stanford, Director at Massey Wilcox, said:
“We are always looking towards the future, and both these accreditations will help with that next step.
“The FORS certification enables us to build additional contracts, and we have targets in place to move from Bronze to Silver early in 2025.
“The successful BRC audit acknowledges all the hard work the team at Massey Wilcox have put in to making our warehouse offerings the very best for a range of customers.
“Not only can we manage the storage of complex consignments, but we can also facilitate new storage options to help grow our business going forward.”
Stuart Godman, CEO at Pallet-Track, said:
“Congratulations to all the team at Massey Wilcox on this double achievement. It is fantastic to see this shareholder member continue to go from strength to strength, by diversifying its operation and looking towards the future. We are immensely proud.”
