Wincanton has extended its contract with Jewson, one of the UK's leading builders’ merchants for small and medium builders.

The new contract will see Wincanton continue to fulfil deliveries of the highest quality building materials to over 400 Jewson branches across the UK from The WEB, its state-of-the-art automated eFulfilment facility, and builds on a partnership that began in 2021.

The contract extension follows the acquisition in March 2023 of Jewson, as part of a collection of businesses serving the UK’s professional tradespeople, by STARK Group, a leading European business-to-business distributor of building materials for the construction industry. Wincanton and Jewson will continue to work together to deliver innovative supply chain solutions designed to meet the needs of Jewson customers.

Carl Moore, Managing Director, eFulfilment, at Wincanton, said:

“We’re delighted to extend our relationship with Jewson as they continue to benefit from cutting edge automation and eFulfilment technologies at The WEB.

“With the award of the contract extension we look forward to building on our collaborative relationships and developing solutions focused on professional tradespeople and the renovation and maintenance market across the UK.”

Ranald Forbes, Chief Logistics Officer at STARK Building Materials UK, said:

“Excellence in supply chain logistics underpins STARK UK’s ability to deliver the high-quality service our customers need.

“Jewson will be able to extend to customers the benefits that will come with our ongoing partnership with Wincanton. We look forward to continuing to innovate solutions that drive forward our transformation and plans to offer the UK’s professional tradespeople with the full value proposition they are looking for from Jewson as their partner to the trades.”
